Our charitable programs

Everything we fund in Australia is delivered to poor students and families in Sri Lanka through trusted local community contacts. Four programs, one purpose: light, learning and dignity.

Flagship Program Rows of solar panels capturing sunlight to generate clean power

1. Solar Powered Lighting Kits

Our flagship program and the heart of our name. We purchase quality solar-powered lighting units in bulk and send them from New South Wales to Sri Lanka, where they are distributed to students and families living without reliable electricity. Each kit charges free in daylight and provides bright, safe light every night — replacing the kerosene lamps and candles that drain family income and fill homes with smoke.

  • Over 13,000 solar lights distributed since 2014
  • Households identified by trusted local community contacts
  • Priority to families with school-aged children
  • Distribution records kept for every consignment
Education A stack of well-used schoolbooks

2. Education Scholarships

Poverty forces bright students out of school every year — not for lack of ability, but for lack of fees, uniforms and exam costs. Our scholarship program supports students from financially disadvantaged families so they can remain in school and complete their education. Recipients are selected on need and commitment, with support continuing as they progress.

  • Scholarships for students from financially disadvantaged families
  • Covers the real costs that push children out of school
  • Selection based on need and dedication to study
  • Progress followed through local school contacts
Essentials Happy children laughing together

3. School Equipment & Clothing

A child without books, pens, shoes or a uniform cannot attend school with dignity — and often cannot attend at all. As needs arise, we supply clothing, school equipment and learning essentials to the children and families we serve, responding to what communities tell us they need most.

  • Books, stationery and learning materials for students
  • Clothing and uniforms for children in need
  • Responsive to specific requests from communities
  • Delivered alongside our solar light distributions

4. Community Partnerships & Distribution

We are a small Australian charity, and our strength in Sri Lanka is partnership. Local community contacts, schools and village networks identify the households in greatest need, help organise distributions, and confirm that every light, scholarship and supply pack reaches the right hands. This model keeps our costs near zero and our targeting precise.

  • Needs identified by people who live in the communities
  • Distributions organised with schools and village networks
  • Delivery confirmed and recorded for accountability
  • Near-zero administration — donations fund goods, not offices
